waiters and waitresses often work irregular hours sometimes they work in the morning and go back in the evening, they often work weekends. They explain how different dishes are prepared. They give the bill to the customers and may give them change or add the cost of the meal to their credit card.

4. Education needed
Some employees with train inexperienced workers, some make people take tests before hiring and other prefer to hire people with food service experience. A major degree you could get in college is culinary art and related food service.

the 8.7 million jobs in the restaurant industry make it one of worlds largest employees.
Completion of postsecondary training in culinary arts, restaurant and food service management, or a related field is increasingly important for advancement in the industry. Management programs are available through junior and community colleges, four-year colleges and universities, and hotel or restaurant associations.

entry level wage is $8.25 per hour, median is $9.07 per hour, and experianced is $12.95 per hour. These all include tips.
